Description
The Florida Atlantic University School of Criminology and Criminal Justice invites applications for a
tenure-line assistant professor position starting Fall 2026 on the Boca Raton campus. While all
substantive areas of expertise will be considered, we are particularly interested in applicants with
research agendas focused on (a) policing or (b) biosocial criminology. The position is a full-time, 9-
month appointment that begins August 8, 2026.
ABOUT THE COLLEGE OF SOCIAL WORK AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE
Encompassing the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice and Phyllis and Harvey Sandler School of
Social Work, we collectively offer one doctoral, two master’s and two undergraduate degree programs;
three specialization certificate programs in child welfare, healthy aging and addiction; and six postgraduate
certificate programs in various specialty areas. The college also houses several research and
service centers, including the Decision-Making Simulation Lab, Center for Integrated Recovery and
Wellness Studies, Child Welfare Institute, Healthy Aging Academy, and the Robin Rubin Center for

Requirements
-Ph.D. in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or allied field; ABDs will be considered; JD alone is insufficient.
-Commitment to conduct independent research and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
-Record of, or potential for, securing external funding.
-Record or, or potential for, engaging in research and/or service with our communities.
-Commitment to teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs and across multiple modalities, including fully online courses.
